Stay fit during the holidays!

The holidays are approaching and we all know what that means...Food, Fun and more FOOD. Most holiday gatherings consist of lots of food and drinks, which makes it easy to overeat and pack on the extra pounds.  I always tell myself, "A few cheat days won't hurt right?" With all of the traveling and visits from family or friends, one or two cheat days may turn into one or two cheat months and just like that you've lost your way in your fitness journey. I mean who is going to say no to that delicious food? Remaining disciplined during the holidays can be very difficult, but it is important to find the balance between all of the holiday treats and staying fit. Here are a few tips that may help keep those extra pounds off:

Exercise Portion Control: Don't be so quick to go back for seconds. Be careful not to consume way more calories than you are burning.

Don't Skip Breakfast - Skipping meals may cause you to be hungrier throughout the day and eat more food than necessary

Stay Hydrated - Drinking water helps with the process of digestion. Drinking water before your meals will also help your body feel full so you don't overeat.

Workout Early - Planning a workout for earlier in the day or morning gives you a better chance that it will get done.

Avoid Excessive Alcohol Consumption - Calories from alcohol are empty calories. Drinking alcohol also reduces the amount of fat your body burns.

Limit Your Sugar - Sugar, which is a carbohydrate, will turn into fat in the body. Too much sugar increases weight gain.

Remember these tips and SLAY this holiday season!
